Will Lykins is a Scientist II at the Access to Advanced Health Institute (AAHI, formerly IDRI) in the Adjuvant Formulations group. Will runs multiple contract research and product development projects, ranging from assessing the physical compatibility between antigen-and adjuvant formulations, to running preclinical immunogenicity studies, to adapting and scaling process and products from clients and transferring them to our GMP team. Will is passionate about developing techniques and products to make healthcare more accessible on a global scale, from R&D all the way to GMP manufacturing. Will has experience developing formulations for parenteral, oral and implantable products, and in building analytical, formulation, and characterization methods for small molecules and biologics. Will is passionate about translating successful preclinical products into the hands of patients, especially in the areas of infections disease and global health.
Will is a graduate of the UC Berkeley-UCSF Graduate Program in Bioengineering, where he completed his dissertation work with Professor Tejal Desai at UCSF to develop novel delivery and formulation systems for biotherapeutics. Will received his BS in Bioengineering, Nanoscience and Molecular Engineering from the University of Washington.
